North Pole robbery and murder case update
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - January 14, 2022. UPDATE. North Pole Police Department reports an update in the case of the armed robbery and murder that took place Wednesday evening in North Pole.
North Pole Police Department responded to an an armed robbery in progress in North Pole, Wednesday night, January 12, 2022 at 11:32 p.m.
Adam Selid and Dalen Davis met with an unnamed person to purchase firearms in North Pole. In doing so, they conspired to rob the seller. Selid pulled out a handgun and threatened the seller. A struggle took place at which time the seller produced his own firearm and fired one round that struck Selid.
Adam Dane Selid was found with a gunshot wound to his abdomen and taken to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital (FMH). Selid was later pronounced dead at FMH. Selid’s next of kin have been notified.
The initial press release stated the crime took place Tuesday, January 12, 2022. The correct date is Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 11:32 p.m. and the location was 209 North Santa Claus Lane.
Dalen Dejuan Davis was initially booked at the Fairbanks Correctional Center for Robbery in the 1st Degree and Murder in the 2nd Degree.
After review of the original charging documents filed against Davis, Fairbanks District Attorney’s Office modified the original Murder 2 charge to Manslaughter.
