Tuesday night shooting at Slater Street residence

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Fairbanks Emergency Communications Center reports two people were shot in an apartment on Slater Street, Tuesday night, January 18, at 9:21 p.m.

Fairbanks Police responded to the report and located a female victim and a male victim locked inside the bathroom of the residence. The female had been shot in both legs and the male victim had been shot in the upper chest and was unresponsive. The male victim was later pronounced deceased. His next of kin have been notified. He has been identified as Lee Kalloch, age 39.

According to the police, “numerous spent 9mm casings were located in the apartment and it was evident someone had shot through the bathroom door.”

The female victim was able to identify the assailant as 22-year-old Takodah Veach.

Veach had left the apartment in a recently purchased 2007 Honda Accord.

The vehicle has been located in an area off Farmers Loop Road. Police are actively seeking information to the whereabouts of Takoda Veach.
