Pet of the Week: Amber the perfect gem of a Lab Pitbull mix
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Here’s a pup whose as perfect as a cut gem. Amber is a friendly dog who is looking for a home as loving as she is. Here’s what Britley Calkins, an animal handler with Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal Shelter, had to say:
“Amber is a two-year-old Lab Pitbull mix who was surrendered to the shelter initially with her four puppies. Amber was a wonderful mom; she has been the sweetest dog here at the shelter.
She was previously in foster, and they had wonderful things to say about her. She is said to be housebroken; she has kept her kennel clean here at the shelter. She is said to be friendly towards cats and other dogs.
We do like to remind owners to make sure that you’re doing safe, slow, and controlled introductions if you do choose to introduce Amber to other pets. Amber is also said to do well around children. Again, the same thing goes, just making sure appropriate handling is done.
Amber has become a quick favorite here at the shelter, but we would love to see her find her new forever home. If you are interested in meeting this bundle of joy, please give the shelter a call. We have plenty of cats, dogs, and pocket pets available for adoption here at the shelter.”
