Very Important Pet: Angel the shy Alaskan Husky Pointer mix
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - We’ve checked, and this pup definitely doesn’t have wings - but she certainly fell from heaven!
Angel is an old girl who could use a forever home to live out the rest of her blessed life comfy and cozy.
Here’s what Britley Calkins, an animal handler with Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal Shelter, had to say:
“Angel is a 10-year-old Alaskan husky-pointer mix who came from a mushing background but was surrendered because her previous owner felt that she didn’t quite want to go all of the time. She would more so enjoy transitioning into the family life or into a slower rec team life.
Angel has lived her entire life outdoors, so if you are planning to transition her inside, please keep in mind that she may need some work on potty training and just the ins and outs of being an inside dog. She has, surprisingly, actually kept her kennel very clean here at the shelter.
She enjoys lounging around on fluffy blankets, but she does still have quite a bit of spunk and is very eager to go... and interested in going outside and going on plenty of adventures.
We do not necessarily know how Miss Angel does with smaller critters. She is an Alaskan husky and they tend to have that higher prey drive. Please keep that in mind.
She was said to be friendly with the dogs on her previous team, but all introductions should be done in a slow, safe and controlled environment. Angel previously ran on all positions in her previous team except for lead. She is a super sweet girl; we have all fallen in love with her and we’d love to find her new forever home. If you are interested in meeting Miss Angel or any of the other dogs, cats or pocket pets here at the shelter please give us a call.”
