FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - The Alaska Division of Elections is reminding voters to make sure their registration information is up-to-date in advance of coming elections.

On June 11, the state is holding a special primary election to fill Don Young’s now vacant seat on the U.S. House of Representatives.

Because this election is largely taking place by mail, the division urges voters to verify their mailing address as soon as possible.

Ballots will begin to be mailed on April 27.

The Fairbanks Regional Office for Elections, located in the State of Alaska Fairbanks Regional Office Building, located at 675 7th Avenue, in downtown Fairbanks, will be open on Sunday, March 27 from noon to 2:00 p.m. and Monday, March 28 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

As of Saturday, March 26, five candidates have filed to run for Young’s seat.

Voter registration status and information can be found here.
