Sisters sign to Salem University
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Two sisters set and spiked their way to an opportunity to play at the collegiate level. Trinity and Hope Eliasen have officically signed their letters of commitment to play volleyball at Salem University.
Their mom and coach, Tawnya Eliasen expressed joy and sorrow as she’s seen them grow up in and out of the game. She remembered the girls “struggle through being to small to play,” and is sad because she’s been “so involved,” yet she “won’t get to see all of it.”
As for the girls, Trinity, much like her mom is joyful to get to play at Salem with her sister. Prior to their commitment, the two girls were planning to go to different schools on opposite sides of the country. This would have been difficult according to Trinity though, “because we’ve always been playing together and then now we get to play together.” All members of the family considered this to bring some piece of mind though since the two girls will have the ability to lean on each other while thousands of miles away from mom and dad.
Moving from Ben Eielson to Salem, the girls will be playing division two volleyball in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
