Pet of the Week: Katana the adorable and loving cat
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Here’s a furry friend who will slice her way to your heart... with love and cuddles.
Katana is a loving little lap cat who is looking for a forever home to call her own. Here’s what Britley Calkins, an animal handler with Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal Shelter, had to say:
“Katana is a 12-year-old kitty looking for her new forever home. This girl was surrendered with incomplete paperwork but her previous owners did reach out with some more information on her.
Katana was said to have done wonderfully with children, dogs, cats and bunnies in her past, but she was said to have some litter box issues in her prior home. We did send her out for a full workup at the vet, which came back clean. Her blood work looked wonderful as well as her urinalysis. So we think that the accidents outside of the box were just some behavioral issues due to stress.
Because of that we are requiring that Katana goes to a home without any dogs or cats, and she may prefer quieter home. Katana has done wonderfully with her animal tenders here at the shelter. She is a little social butterfly and has been extremely sweet. She’s also been using her litter box fantastically here at the shelter and hasn’t had any accidents outside that box.
If you are interested in meeting Katana or any of our other dogs, cats, or pocket pets here at the shelter please give us a call.”
