15-year-old Alexis Bane found safe and man linked to Amber Alert arrested

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - The Alaska State Troopers (AST) activated an Amber Alert for 15-year-old Alexis Bane on Wednesday, August 17, 2022. According to the alert she was believed to be with 51-year-old Steven Narron in the Anchorage area and be “in imminent threat of serious injury or death.”
AST states Narron, who is a Fairbanks resident, is a non-compliant sex offender and has an active felony probation violation warrant for his arrest.
15-year-old Bane, who is also a Fairbanks resident, was last seen in Fairbanks on Sunday, August 14, 2022. According to the Fairbanks Police Department (FPD), an active missing juvenile report has been filed on Bane.
Troopers from across the state began work to corroborate their suspicion that Narron was with Bane.
Further investigation, determined Narron and Bane were together in the Anchorage area and that is when the Amber Alert was activated.
Numerous tips, from residents across the state, were reported to local law enforcement.
According to an updated AST Dispatch Report, on Thursday, August 18, around 4:30 a.m., a resident reported a dangerous driver on Kalifornsky Beach Road in the Soldotna area to troopers. Troopers attempted to stop the vehicle, and after refusal to pull over, troopers gave chase. The vehicle was eventually stopped by using spike strips in the Kasilof area of the Sterling Highway.
AST recognized the driver of the vehicle from the Amber Alert, as Steven Narron. 15-year-old Alexis Bane was found safe inside the vehicle.
Narron was arrested on his active felony probation violation warrant and remanded to Wildwood Correctional Center in Kenai.
Narron was also charged with Eluding, Misconduct involving a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, and DUI. According to AST, investigators are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, and additional charges will likely be filed.
