Another Fairbanks drug bust involving fentanyl was executed this week
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - The Fairbanks Area Narcotics Team and the Criminal Suppression Unit arrested 37-year-old Galen Smith on Thursday, January 5 in connection with an investigation involving the distribution of M-30 fentanyl laced pills.
According to court documents, Smith was previously convicted of felony drugs misconduct in 2018 and misdemeanor drug misconduct in 2014 and 2015.
Smith is being held without bail at the Fairbanks Correctional Center. His new charges include three counts of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the second degree, and one count of misconduct involving weapons in the second degree.
This is an ongoing investigation.
The Fairbanks Area Narcotics Unit is comprised of investigators from the Alaska State Troopers, Drug Enforcement Administration, Fairbanks Police Department, North Pole Police Department, North Slope Borough Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
