Rep. Mary Peltola opens appropriations requests for non-profits
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Non-profit organizations in Fairbanks and around Alaska now have an opportunity to bring their needs to the federal government.
Starting Thursday, March 2, Representative Mary Peltola began accepting requests for appropriations from public and governmental non-profits in fiscal year 2024′s appropriations bill.
Peltola, who serves on the House Natural Resources Committee and the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, announced the opportunity Thursday morning, saying “Alaska’s congressional delegation has a strong track record of delivering results for our home.”
These appropriations requests are different from spending requests. As programmatic and language appropriations, they are designed to seek general funding for national and regional programs, and to request language in the appropriations bill directing a federal agency to take a desired action.
The deadline to submit a request is March 17. More information and the request form can be found on Peltola’s congressional website.
