Fairbanks Drama Association presents “Almost, Maine” for spring show
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Fairbanks is no stranger to dark winter months, and tales of the season make up “Almost, Maine,” the latest offering from the Fairbanks Drama Association (FDA).
This event marks the theater company’s final mainstage production of its 2022-2023 season.
The cast includes actors who have worked with FDA before, and some new faces as well.
The play consists of nine short scenes set in a Maine community on the same night, all having themes involving love and romance.
According to Director Paul Adasiak, these vignettes include situations like “opening up to new love after a broken heart, the anxiety of not knowing where you stand in a relationship, the difficulties that married couples face in sometimes not communicating or becoming cold and distant to each other, the difficulty of falling in love with someone who you didn’t expect to fall in love with and you don’t think you’re allowed to.”
The play opens on Friday, April 7 and runs for three weekends.
