Family Friendly Workplace Awards honor Interior Alaska businesses
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - The Family Friendly Workplace awards were given out Tuesday, April 18 at a weekly luncheon of the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce.
The awards, given out by the Fairbanks North Star Borough (FNSB), honor businesses that foster a good working environment for employees to create a work-life balance.
Recipients were nominated by people in the community, and were categorized by type of business or organization and number of employees.
Honorees includee Hydro-Tech Alaska, Shannon and Wilson, Inc., Thrivalaska, the Resource Center for Parents and Children, and the University of Alaska Fairbanks Community and Technical College, among others.
At the event, Meredith Maple, Chair of the FNSB Early Childhood Development Commission, thanked the Fairbanks Chamber for hosting the event, saying, “There are a ton of organizations and businesses in our community that really do put families first, and everybody showing up for this event really attests to that.”
“This is our 18th year honoring the interior’s family-friendly businesses,” Maple explained.
In addition to the nine award recipients, more than 60 businesses, organizations and public entities were nominated across the borough.
