FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Users of the public transit system that live in the Aurora neighborhood in Fairbanks are about to have an added chance to catch the bus.

Starting March 27, stops along Aurora Drive have been closed while the Department of Transportation replaces a bridge across the Noyes Slough.

Starting Monday, April 24, one stop is being added to the rotation, near the corner of Aurora and Burgess Avenue.

This stop is meant to serve for some residents as a closer alternative to stops on nearby Danby Road.

It was proposed based on public comments received by the Fairbanks Area Surface Transportation (FAST) Planning group.

The bridge project is expected to last through the month of October.
