Monroe Catholic’s Maggie Zaverl signs NLI for basketball
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) -Monroe Catholic proudly hosted a national letter of intent as Maggie Zaverl committed to Pacific University Oregon (PU) to play basketball for them this fall.
The Boxers play basketball in the Northwest Conference (NWC) in Division III of the NCAA. The PU women’s basketball program had a stellar year going nineteen and eight and made it to the conference championship. Over the past four years the team has had 60 wins and 29 losses becoming a dominate force in the NWC
We asked Zaverl on her thoughts about playing basketball for the Boxers.
“It’s a really good program, there’s two other Alaskans on the team so I’m super excited to be joining them. Yeah I really like the coach and I really like the team, I’m excited,” said Zaverl.
Zaverl also stated she plans to study to be an optometrist while at Pacific University.
