FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Utqiagvik, Alaska is truly the “Land of the Midnight Sun.”
Thursday, May 11 marks the start of the endless sunlight in Utqiagvik, Alaska.
The sun rose at approximately 2:15 a.m. on Thursday, May 11 in Utqiagvik and will stay high in the sky for just under three months. This will give the town 24 hours of consistent daylight for 83 continuous days.
The next time the sun will dip into civil twilight will be on August 2 just after 2 am.
