FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - If you enjoy local markets and the word “free” then this weekend might have something in store for you.
This Saturday, May 20, is the “Really Free Market” at the University of Alaska (UAF) Lola Tilly parking lot, across from the Patty Center.
A community staple for 13 years the “Really Free Market” is a market where you can donate items you no longer have use for and shop around for items you might need, all for free.
Donations can be made from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the Lola Tilly parking lot and volunteers will be available to assist you in unloading your donated items. Please make sure all dropped off items are clean, safe, and useable.
Stick around after dropping off your donated items for some live music until the market opens at 10 a.m.
Michelle Bartlett, UAF Director of Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning describes the market, “we have different sections of clothing, household goods, furniture, sporting, tools, etc. and at 10′o’clock the market opens and people can come in and literally take anything they want.”
This year there will be approximately 85 tables filled with items that you can take home for free.
