KTVF Gone Fishing Report for May 25, 2023
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) -Now that the days are getting longer and warmer and the snow is melting away, it is time to get your fishing gear out and catch some fish. Here’s a brief look around the state to see where the fish are at.
Matanuska Valley - The Matanuska Valley is looking great, as the trout are plentiful and it’s still early in the king salmon season but keep your eye out as they should start appearing here in the last week of may.
Kenai River - For the Kenai River, rainbow trout are still on no catch order until June steel heads are still looking good and sport fishing for king salmon is currently closed until June 30th.
Prince William Sound - In the Prince William Sound area, you should prepare for heavy winds and colder weather but it shouldn’t be a problem for reeling them as theirs still plenty of life especially in the valdez arm and port wells area.
