Pet of The Week
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Finley is a 4-year-old lab husky mix. He was surrendered with his brother, Samson, and they are both looking for that perfect place to call home.
Britley Calkins from the Fairbanks Animal Shelter explains, “These boys are quite large in size, but they are the gentlest giants. They were known to jump fences, so they should be supervised at all times when outdoors.”
Finley was said to be to be kennel trained and house broken and is great about keeping his kennel clean while at the animal shelter.
“They have very friendly personalities. Both Finley and Samson are said to be wonderful around children. Finley was also said to do great with other dogs and even cats,” said Calkins.
“Alaskan huskies are known for their higher prey drive. So if you do have those smaller critters around please keep that in mind,” Calkins added.
Finley would love to find that new perfect place to call home and would love for his brother Samson to join him. If you are interested in meeting him, or his brother Samson, or possibly the pair, please give the shelter a call at 907-459-1451 to set up an appointment.
There are also plenty of other dogs, cats, or pocket pets also available for adoption at the Fairbanks Animal Shelter located at 2408 Davis Rd. in Fairbanks. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. with differing hours during holidays.
