KTVF Gone Fishing Report for June 1, 2023
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) -Now that the days are longer and warmer, the time to get your fishing gear out and catch some fish is now. Here’s a brief look around the state to see where the fish are at.
Matanuska Valley - Mat-Su is looking great, as Ocean-Run King Salmon and Sockeye Salmon are passing through Little Susitna River.
Kenai River - Rainbow Trout are on a catch-and-release order now, and King Salmon are on a catch-and-release order too. The Kenia River Tributaries are on a no fishing order
Prince William Sound - The Valdez Halibut Derby has kicked off and stretches until September third also included is the Halibut Hullaballo, that starts June second and ends June eleventh
Rivers and Lakes - The Department of Fish and Game plus The Game William Jack Hernandez Sport Fish Hatchery Stocked Rainbow Trout back into Lower Fire Lake in Eagle River. Chena lake is also looking great for Trout and includes land locked Artic Char, and King Salmon due to flooding.
