FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) -Now that the days are longer and warmer, the time to get your fishing gear out and catch some fish is now. Here’s a brief look around the state to see where the fish are at.

Matanuska Valley - Hot right now for King Salmon, and Sock Eye (Reds) are starting to appear so make sure to add a flashtrap spinner to your tackle box.

Kenai River - The main stem and it’s tributary streams are closed until June 10 for spotting rainbow trout.

Prince William Sound - King Salmon fishing is hotter then a summer cookout right now. The Valdez Halibut Derby is still on, and a new leader was crowned for the week with a 147.2 Pound halibut.

Rivers and Lakes - Copper River is opening up for personal dip nets from June 12 to June 18, with the limit set at 25 salmon for the head of household, and ten salmon for each dependent of the permit holder.
