FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Now that the days are longer and warmer, the time to get your fishing gear out and catch some fish is now. Here’s a brief look around the state to see where the fish are at.

Matanuska Valley - The Mat-Su valley is looking quiet right now due high water levels and smaller king salmon.

Kenai River - Sock eye fishing is slow, Rainbow Trout fishing is good, and the Kasilof River personal dip net fishery is open.

Prince William Sound - The south side of Glacier Island is jumping with pinks, kings, and halibut.

Rivers and Lakes - The Copper River personal use dip net fishery has opened, and salmon runs on the Copper River are looking good.
