Chena Lake Recreation Area to host music and art festival
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - On Saturday, July 8, the Chena Lake Recreation Area is hosting a festival of music and art for the community.
The event is free to attend, and includes food trucks and other vendors from around the Fairbanks area.
2023 marks the second year of the annual Chena Lake Art and Music Festival event, which saw around 1,200 attendees in its first year.
This time the gathering is scheduled to feature six musical acts from Alaskan artists.
According to Lauren Manning, Administrative Assistant for the Fairbanks Arts Association, “There will also be a community mural that people can participate in. We’ll have a large ‘all hands on deck’ painting extravaganza, so it’ll be great. There will also be a whole area run by the Fairbanks Children’s Museum for kids, our little kids play zone, lots of games, lots of fun things going on.”
The Chena Lake Art and Music Festival runs from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Lake Park Day Use Field.
