Weapons violation under investigation with suspects still at large

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Two incidences of firearms discharge have taken place around high volume tourist areas in July. The illegal discharge has lead to investigations by the Alaska State Troopers as the suspects remain at large.

The first incident occurred on July 13, when a structure near Pikes Landing Road was shot several times. Then, on July 18, gunshots were reported near the Princess Riverside Lodge and Chena Small Tracks Road.

The latter report came in around 2 a.m. Law enforcement were able to contact multiple witnesses who alleged that the shots came from a black Nissan SUV, occupied by a male driver and female passenger.

Damage from the bullets that were shot was found on the side of the Princess Riverside Lodge.

These incidents present a danger to the public and the AST are asking the public to report any information they have about the previous discharges or any future firearms discharge in the vicinity.
