Fatal hit and run in Delta Junction

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - A hit and run investigation is underway in Delta Junction after Alaska State Troopers (AST) received report of a man found dead in the middle of the roadway near milepost 1421 of the Alaska Highway.

The report came in around 10:15 p.m. Tuesday night, according to AST.

When officers arrived, they found 47-year-old John Emerick of Delta Junction deceased and appeared to be struck by a vehicle that had left the scene.

Evidence at the scene has led troopers to believe that the suspect vehicle is a dark grey or blue vehicle that continued driving towards Tok after the collision.
