Pet of the Week: Roxy

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Meet the Pet of the Week, Roxy! She is an Alaskan Husky mix, just over one year old, and looking for that perfect, active home to join.

Roxy was accustomed to living an outdoor life and that is where she is the most confident and comfortable. She does have a background in mushing and would enjoy an active lifestyle. Her prior owner felt she would do great as a skijor buddy!

Though Roxy was an outdoor dog, she is kennel trained and has done a great job at keeping her kennel at the shelter clean. She also does well riding in vehicles. Because of this, the shelter employees feel that Roxy could make the transition to an indoor dog relatively easily, if a future owner wanted.

Roxy can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once she knows you she is very sweet and happy to have her ears rubbed. In her prior home she was described as being an outgoing and friendly girl.
