FNSB Central Recycling Facility to expand open hours

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - The Fairbanks North Star Borough’s Central Recycling Facility is expanding its hours starting Wednesday, November 1.
While Saturday hours remain 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the facility will now open at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday through Friday, instead of at noon, when it had previously opened.
It will continue to close at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and will remain closed on Sundays and Mondays.
The facility will continue to accept the same kinds of recyclables as before, including cardboard, paper, newspaper, numbers 1 and 2 plastic bottles and jugs, aluminum cans, and household electronics.
Recycling residents are reminded to pre-sort their items before arrival.
