On November 1st, the Alaska State Troopers (AST) engaged in the pursuit of a pickup truck on the Parks Highway, during which the driver of the truck, 45-year-old Michael Grimes of Fairbanks shot at pursuing officers.

After the truck was stopped by AST, the shooting continued... and Grimes was eventually killed.

The Alaska Bureau of Investigation continues to work on the incident.

The name of the officer involved in a shooting in Tok has also been released.
