Pet of the Week: Elliot

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) -Elliot is a 3-year-old intact male rabbit looking for that perfect new home. The Fairbanks Animal Shelter does not know his prior history, since he was originally brought to them as a stray.

At the shelter he has reportedly been wonderful with using his litterbox and loves playing with his enrichment toys. Elliot is fine with being petted and picked up.

If you are not familiar with rabbit care, the shelter does encourage research prior to adoption. They should have unlimited access to timothy hay for their teeth and GI health, a measured amount of pellet food, fresh greens and clean water on a daily basis. Rabbit-appropriate chews are also helpful.

Rabbits do like to have a large area where they can hop around and explore, but please make sure to bunny-proof your room first as bunnies like to chew on everything.
