We are extremely close to officially having a winner in the 2018 Yukon Quest.

Allen Moore, who has held the lead for the vast majority of this year's race, is at the Braeburn Checkpoint.

Braeburn is the final stop before the Whitehorse finish line.

There is a mandatory 8 hour layover to make sure the team can make the final stretch.

Moore just finished his eight hour layover and has embarked on the 100 mile stretch to Whitehorse, meaning that we should have our winner by tomorrow's broadcast.

Matt Hall arrived in Braeburn this afternoon and Laura Neese is right on his tail after working her way up to third place.

Paige Drobny and Vebjorn Reitan will round out the top five for today.

After the forty below temperatures the Mushers had to endure around Dawson City, they'll be thrilled to know that temperatures in Whitehorse are about sitting in the 15 above range.

Our current Red Lantern holder is Rob Cooke, who was at the Stepping Stone checkpoint this afternoon.
