The Fairbanks North Star Borough is temporarily reopening 30-Mile Transfer Site.

The site, at mile point 334.5 on the Richardson Highway, will be open while the Salcha Transfer Site is undergoing construction.

In a statement on its Facebook page, the borough specified that the Moose Creek and North Pole Transfer Sites are preferred alternative locations.

The 30-Mile site had previously closed in January. Its reopening comes after the announcement that the Salcha Transfer site will be closed from July 14th until August 18th.
