This weekend in Denali National Park and Preserve, closures were announced to Polychrome Pass around mile 38 due to a mudslide covering the area with debris.

The Park staff were contacted at 1:50 PM with a call stating the road was impassible.

A road crew was quickly dispatched and the road was opened again by 2:40 PM. There is no expected impact to traffic from the mudslide, but drivers are advised to be careful while heavy equipment is still operating around the area.

Chances for more landslides and flooding are expected to increase in the next few days due to upcoming rainy weather.
