While most events have been cancelled, Interior Alaskan parks remain open. We stopped by Tanana Lakes to speak with residents about why getting out on the Fourth of July is important to them.

"Tired of being cooped up the house. It's always good to get out and experience nature, warm weather, nice weather while we have it anyways." –John S.

"We all have the weekend off and it's perfect weather for the holiday weekend and the girls love swimming." -Jessica H.

"I think it is important to just get out and enjoy the sun, absorb that vitamin D and just enjoy the Alaskan summer." –April M.

"With everything going on it's important for us to spend time with our family. Especially me being out of town. I just came back into town from Las Vegas. So being with my family here from the military is a really big deal for me, especially since I'm going to be going to military soon, so I won't be able to spend time with my family as much." –Kobe S.
