Flour recall affects 5-lb bags sold in Alaska
There's a recall on certain five-pound bags of flour due to a concern over salmonella contamination.
The recall has been put out voluntarily by General Mills for its Gold Medal Unbleached Flour bags that have a 'better if used by date' of April 20, 2020.
The company says the potential presence of salmonella was discovered during a sampling of the product.
The company has not received any consumer reports of confirmed illnesses related to the flour.
The recall affects only bags with that particular use-by date.
Other types of Gold Medal flour are unaffected by the recall.
The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation has confirmed that the bags were sold in Alaska.
