Several community members wanted to show support for law enforcement so they set up a snack drive outside of the Fairbanks police station.

The group collected decorated lunch bags from church members and filled them with donated snacks.

Jennifer Ham, with “Go Blue Alaska,” said she had been organizing events like this for the last several years, and this year instead of hosting speakers and crowds she decided to keep it low key.

“I started this about five years ago when I started seeing officers getting shot just because of their profession," Ham said. "Everything that I have watched in the last couple of months, especially in the lower 48, they are de-funding the police and that scares me to death to think of a world without police. So I wanted them to know we have their backs, we do support them and there are people out there who still care about them.”
