Alaska State Troopers were out in force over the Fourth of July weekend as they conducted increased patrols. Wildlife Troopers at Harding Lake charged three individuals with boating violations.

According to Alaska State Trooper Dispatch, 21-year-old McCoy Lindquist of North Pole was observed driving a jet boat at a high rate of speed through the crowded boat parking area. He then allegedly drove the boat approximately 75-100 feet into a grassy area on the side of the boat launch. An investigation revealed that he had allegedly been drinking. He was issued a summons for reckless boating.

Wildlife Troopers arrested 30-year-old Lucas Deweese of Fairbanks and charged him with boating under the influence of alcohol. The troopers contacted Deweese for a boating safety check. He was arrested and taken to Fairbanks Correctional Facility.
