Key General Election Preliminary Results

Here is a look at results from some of the top races from the General Election.

Congressman Don Young took the lead with 54% to Alyse Galvin's 46%.

In the governor's race, Mike Dunleavy and Kevin Meyer pulled ahead with 53% to Mark Begich and Debra Call at 44.

Alyse Galvin called Don Young, and Mark Begich contacted Mike Dunleavy to congratulate their opponents on their win.

After suspending his campaign, Governor Bill Walker and Valerie Davison brought in 2% of the vote, and Billy Toien and Carolyn Clift had 2%, as.

There are some close races that have yet to be called.

Pete Kelly and Scott Kawasaki, vying for Senate Seat A, are virtually tied - with Kelly at 49.85% and Kawasaki at 49.72%,

Kathryn Dodge and Bart LeBon, running for State House District 1, are close as well - with LeBon at 50.64% and Dodge at 49.01%.

Prop 1 was defeated with 64% voting 'no', and 36% voting 'yes'.

All three judges in Fairbanks were retained.

Absentee and questioned ballots still have to be counted, so these results are preliminary.

According to the Division of Elections, the next vote count will be on November 13th - and they are aiming to certify the election by November 23rd.
