Man arrested after allegedly trying to run car off of road
Alaska State Troopers arrested a man after he allegedly crashed into the back of someone's car and tried to run them off of the road during a road rage incident.
Mustafa Saleh, 22, is accused of following a car with three women in it. Charging documents said someone called the troopers to report that a gray truck was chasing a sedan and trying to run it off of the road and that it had made at least six U-turns and was driving faster than 90 mph.
According to the people in the car he was chasing, Saleh had been following them throughout the day and then crashed into their car. They both stopped on Farmers Loop and when the driver of the car got out of the vehicle, she said Saleh attempted to run her over. She pepper sprayed him and then got back into her car.
She said Sahel continued to follow their car and again tried to run them off of the road. They stopped again and one of the passengers got out of the car but he again tried to run her over.
The vehicles eventually stopped at the Sourdough on Farmers Loop where troopers contacted Sahel. He told troopers that he was chasing the sedan because they had been driving his truck and taken multiple items from it. He also claimed that he had called troopers but Fairbanks AST dispatchers never received a call from him.
Sahel was charged with two counts of third degree assault, reckless driving and failing to give information after an accident. He arrested and was taken to Fairbanks Correctional Center. Troopers are asking anyone who witnessed the event or had to take evasive action to contact them at 451-5100
