NANOOK CORNER: November Schedule for Nanook Athletics
From this point on, we're going to use the first Nanook Corner of each month to show you what each program at the University of Alaska has scheduled for the next 30 days.
Let's take a look at what's coming up in November.
"The month of November is going to be stacked for the University of Alaska. We'll start with the Nanook Volleyball Team who will finish their season on the road. They have two games left this year and only need to win one of them to have their first winning season since 2008. They take on the Northwest Nazarene Nighthawks on Thursday November 8th, and the Central Washington Wildcats in their season finale on Saturday November 10th. The Nanook Hockey Team, who hasn't played at home since October 13th, will begin the month of November on the Road this weekend in Michigan. They will visit the Lake Superior State Lakers in a two game series on November 9th and 10th. They will finally return home with a series against Alabama Huntsville in the Carlson Center on November 16th and 17th. They will have one more series on the road, heading back to Michigan to play the Michigan Tech Huskies on the 23rd and 24th, before finishing November with a home matchup against Ferris State on the 30th. All games in the Carlson Center are set for a 7pm start. The Nanook Hockey team is still searching for their first win of the season at 0-7-1 overall. Both Basketball teams have already started their November action, but will be competing in Tournaments through the Month. The Women's team will be competing in the San Francisco State Gator Invite on November 10th and 11th, and will be in Anchorage for the Seawolf Hoop Classis on the 16th and 17. They will be hosting the Mt. McKinley Bank North Star Crossover from the 22nd-24th and will finish the month with a conference opener against Northwest Nazarene in Idaho on the 29th. The Men's team will be on the road through the month, they compete in the GNAC/Pacwest Crossover the 9th through the 12th, the Seawolf Jamboree on the 16th and 17th, and will be in Billings Montana for games on the 23rd, 24th, and 27th. And the Rifle team will be in their final meets of 2018 on the 15th, 16th, and 18th against UTEP, TCU, and Nevada respectively."
