A North Pole man was sentenced to 90 years in prison in Superior Court today for the death of his 4-year-old son.

31-year-old Christopher Sadowski, Senior, was found guilty in December of one count of first degree murder, and 2-counts of second degree murder in the death of his son Christopher Sadowski Jr.

The child died May 5th 2015 as a result of multiple blunt force injuries and second and third degree burns. Sadowski testified stating the boy had extensive bruising and injuries due to being active and clumsy, and the burns were from accidentally scalding the boy in the shower.

A state medical examiner testified that the boy had 59 blunt force injuries, 16 of them to his head, he died two days after the burn incident.

Sadowski told investigators he started CPR when he realized his son wasn't breathing, but first responders reported the boy was cold and stiff when they arrived on scene. It was estimated the child had been dead for five hours before Sadowski called 9-1-1.
