PET OF THE WEEK: Jester the husky is a companion for the great outdoors
You may not be royalty, but you will be entertained by this joker.
Meet Jester, in the latest edition of Pet of the Week.
Animal tender Sarah Harman tells us more about this pup:
"Hi, my name is Sarah, I'm here at the Fairbanks Animal Shelter with our pet of the week, who is Jester this week. He is a two year old Alaskan husky. He was just recently neutered and is ready for his new home.
He is very excitable and happy and easygoing. He has lots and lots of energy, as huskies do, so he needs a very active family who can give him lots of exercise and mental stimulation. Huskies can become pretty destructive if they're not getting properly exercised. I like to say that a tired husky is a well-behaved husky.
This guy has been super friendly to all the other dogs and people in the shelter. However, he did come to us as a stray, so we don't know much about his history. So we recommend using caution if you have any small animals or cats in the home.
We don't know how he does around children, so we recommend that you bring the whole family down to meet him to make sure he's gonna be a good fit.
If you're an active, outdoorsy family that wants to go on lots of hikes and runs, he would love to be a part of your family and join in on the fun.
If Jester's not quite the right guy for you, we have lots of other animals here looking for new homes. We have guinea pigs, bunnies, cats and other dogs who could join your home. So come on down and find a new friend!"
