PET OF THE WEEK: Meet Pippin the Alaskan husky
This girl may be a trickster but she will stick with you from Mordor to the Shire.
"Hi my name is Sarah,” said animal tender Sarah Harman. “I am here at the Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal Control Shelter with our 'Pet of the Week.' This is Pippin. She is a seven-month old Alaskan husky. She came in here with her three siblings, two of them have been adopted. Her and her sister Mary are still here looking for homes.
They are pretty young and rambunctious. They will need a lot of exercise and training to be good dogs, but they are very smart and eager to learn. So if you have a family that likes hiking, skiing, biking or anything like that [to] help her get lots of exercise and go on fun adventures, she would love to be a part of your home.
Pippin came to us as a stray so we don't know a whole lot about her history; but since she has been here, she has been very friendly with people and the other animals around.
We would be cautious in sending her to a home with cats as huskies can have a high prey drive. She is young and impressionable and ready for someone to come along and teach her to be a real good girl.
If Pippin is not for you, we have lots of other dogs and cats and guinea pigs and bunnies and a chicken. So come on down and find yourself a new friend."
