State Legislature Committees Still Working On Budget Compromise
Alaska Legislators continue working to find a solution to the budget issues that could lead to a government shutdown.
A budget has to be adopted by July 1st, which is the beginning of the new fiscal year.
If that doesn't happen, state offices and services will shut down, and thousands of workers will be sent home.
The Governor introduced a compromise plan for the house and senate to consider, but it hasn't gotten much attention.
A conference committee is working to come up with a plan that both sides can agree on.
