Student arrested for stealing firearms on day of anti-gun protest
A West Valley High School student has been arrested and charged after allegedly stealing multiple guns from a family member.
According to court documents - his family believed he was planning to take those stolen weapons to an anti-gun protest on campus late last week.
18-year old - west valley student Jared Cagwin - has been charged with theft in the second degree after stealing several firearms from a family member's home.
At this time Troopers are unsure what his motive was.
But because Cagwin stole the guns on the same morning of the anti-gun "walk-out" at west Valley, Cagwin's aunt was worried he was going to bring the guns to school.
After lying to Troopers about where his car was - they found it in the West Valley parking lot.
One of the stolen firearms *WAS found in the glove box.
Again Cagwin was charged with theft in the second degree.
The school district and troopers did not respond to our request for comment.
