U.S. Army aims to hire 10,000 soldiers in three-day nationwide virtual event
A nationwide effort by the U.S. Army aims to hire 10,000 soldiers in a three-day period. ‘Army National Hiring Days’ is the Army's first nationwide virtual hiring campaign, which started on June 30, and ends on July 2.
During the event, people who join the Army will receive an extra $2,000 bonus. There are opportunities for higher signing bonuses and student loan debt reimbursement depending on the demand of the career field.
U.S. Army Alaska Commanding General Peter Andrysiak says joining the Army can help someone who may need immediate financial relief or is interested in a new career field. "Whether you're a student that is trying to figure out how to pay off student loans, maybe you recently lost your job due to the pandemic or you're someone that is in a job right now [where] you just don't feel right and you're not comfortable with where you are. It is not where you want to be. I think the Army has great opportunities, and now more than ever we have benefits and compensation programs that are outstanding and better than they have been in the past," said Andrysiak.
