Folks, we have an update on Jason Campeau after he had dropped from the race.
Campeau was picked up after sustaining two head injuries which resulted in concussions for the Yukon Quest veteran.
According to the reports, he suffered the first injury after stopping to help Hugh Neff.
His sled flipped on him, resulting in him hitting his face and head on the ice.
It is reported that he hasn't walked yet, but he is eating.
The dangers of the trail have a wide range of problems, and we hope Campeau has a speedy recovery.
Speaking of the dangers, I must inform that one of Hugh Neff's dogs, Bobby, has passed away on the trail before he could get to Dawson City.
Head Veterinarian, Dr. Christina Hansen said a necropsy will be conducted, and Neff told the race marshal that he will scratch after arriving to Dawson.
Here are the top five mushers.
In first is Allen Moore, who is the first musher in and out of Dawson City giving the man the chance to claim the $5,000 chunk of gold at Whitehorse.
In second is Paige Drobny, who has also left Dawson.
In third is the defending champ in Matt Hall.
In fourth is Ed Hopkins.
And in fifth is the rookie Vebjorn Reitan.
