We received confirmation early this morning that the first F-35A Joint Strike Fighter aircraft are set to arrive at Eielson Air Force Base today (Tuesday) in the afternoon.
KTVF Channel 11 and KXDF Channel 13 will broadcast live on-air and live stream digitally the landing of the aircraft along with interviews with base leadership and messages from the Alaska Congressional Delegation during the event.
Senator Dan Sullivan, Senator Lisa Murkowski, Congressman Don Young and Lt. Gen. David Krumm, Commander - Alaskan NORAD Region, Alaskan Command, 11th Air Force will be sharing video messages and Colonel Benjamin Bishop, 354th Fighter Wing Commander will be with our reporter on the flightline.
The base is scheduled to receive two aircraft per month after the initial aircraft are delivered. A total of 54 aircraft, along with 1,300 personnel, are expected to be on Eielson by December 2021.
