Ice Dog's have first win of season in fifth match

In college hockey our very own Ice Dogs matched with the Johnstown Tomahawks out of state. This game was the fifth since the season opener, and the first win since the Dog's rocky start of four losses. This game ended with the Ice Dog's victorious at 4-3.

The whole of the game was evenly matched between the two universities, with Fairbanks taking 1-0 for the first, 3-1 in the second and finally 0-2 in the third. In shot statistics Johnstown took the cake with 36 to Fairbanks' 26. 6 in the first, 13 in the second and 17 in the third. The Ice Dogs took 7 in the first, 11 in the second and 8 in the third.

Going into player stats, Trenton Woods just barely led the Dog's with 1 goal and 1 assist. But also took 2 penalties in minutes. Lucas Erickson, Luke Ciolli and Jax Murray each brought the win with 1 goal each. Riley Sims performed as the Dog's goalie and made 33 saves.

On the Johnstown side of things, Chad Merrell led their team with 2 of their 3 goals, and Carter McPhail made 12 saves as the Tomahawk's goalie.

This game leaves the Ice Dogs 1-4 this season and opens for their game tonight against the Minot Minotauros.
