North Pole angler continues to hold lead in Valdez Halibut Derby

Week two of the Valdez Halibut derby saw another fish over 100 pounds reeled in, but the top overall spot remained the same.

For the week of May 26th to June 1st, Anchorage's Amanda Von Imhof brought in the top fish. ​

She caught a 107.8 pound Halibut on May 26th on the "Go Get Her". ​

Second place for the week belonged to Craig Villante from Lakeland Florida. Craig brought up a 98.6 pound Flatfish on June 1st on the Sea Quester. ​

In the overall standings, Rosina Mancari and her 107.4 pound fish got pushed back to third place while Von Imhof is now in second. ​

And the number one spot overall still belongs to North Pole's Doris Miller, who caught a 109.6 pounder on the Dan Orion on May 21st. ​

The Halibut Derby will be taking place in Valdez until September 1st. ​

Whoever has the heaviest fish will recieve the $10,000 cash grand prize while second place will win $3,000 and third will bring home $1,500. The Silver Salmon Derby will be starting up on July 20th. ​
